Historically, ioLibrary (introduced by Amidio Inc in the end of 2008) has been the first way to share audio data between music apps on the iPhone. Users all over the world produced pieces of their musical compositions in our various apps and then imported them into Intua Beatmaker for sequencing. Noise.io Pro was the first app to get such functionality. However, ioLibrary was relying on the only available method of real file sharing on the iPhone OS prior to 4.0 - DCIM folder. In the end of 2009, one year later, Apple decided that this kind of app behaviour was unacceptable and forced the developers to remove ioLibrary support from all the apps, causing mass user dissatisfaction.

The latest announcement of iPhone 4.0 OS (on 08 April 2010) has shown that Apple is making great changes in the iPhone SDK. Beta version of the SDK is now available and we have started digging through it.

One thing is clear - ioLibrary will be back and be completely different. We will develop it as an engine for our own needs - our upcoming apps Noise.io XT, WaveReign and OMGuitar, as well as our existing apps (via updates), will use collaboration services to allow great possibilities. But we will be happy to share the source code with any developer.

We will gladly discuss ioLibrary 4.0's features with everyone interested. We will also collaborate with the developers if anybody expresses such interest. Our goal is to make possible all the things (in terms of music apps interactivity)  we've dreamed about since getting the first iPhone.

The contents of this page will be updated soon. Stay tuned!
